After meeting at the Parsons School of Design in 2001 where they each earned an MFA in Design and Technology, Mateo and Juan joined forces to form Sourcelab, a design firm specializing in interactive museum and cultural heritage projects. While all of their projects were fulfilling, they were particularly excited about the possibilities that came along with designing for mobile devices.

The proverbial perfect storm hit (mobile devices capable of many new things, great clients and cool projects) and the next thing you know, GuideOne was born. They rounded out the team with an expanding roster of design, content and technical gurus, who you'll love working with as much as they do.

Juan Sanabria - Juan has a wealth of experience in UX design, motion graphic design and a passion for teaching others about the arts, which is why he’s uniquely suited to head up GuideOne’s product development and innovation team. When he's not busy researching the latest mobile technology, he can be found teaching advanced ceramics or on the beach kiteboarding.

Mateo Zlatar- Mateo is a Principal of GuideOne and the head Creative Director. He's both a designer and an artist who creates experimental music and visual arts on the side. Before working with Sourcelab and GuideOne, his career as an Art Director in advertising agencies such as DDB, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Y & R earned him numerous awards in local and international festivals, including a Silver Medal at the Cannes International Festival.

Naomi Mersky- Naomi is our marketing guru. She's worked as a strategic planner in major Manhattan ad agencies for over twelve years specializing in consumer insights, branding and strategy. Her experience fielding primary research has helped us to better understand what visitors want and expect from mobile tour apps.

Josie Lawlor- Josie is our cartographer and botanical expert. She specializes in the flora of New England, and her 12 years of botanical experience include projects in Chicago, NY, VT, Brazil and the Yucatan. For mapping and spatial visualizations she utilizes BG-Base/Map, CAD and GPS. In garden design she uses native plants whenever possible. For a recent design/build project she installed native plants as a living buffer, to collect and filter water flowing into a Mexican cenote.
