Frequently Asked Questions

1Do you offer custom apps?
Yes. In addition to the many features that we offer, we will work with you to create any component, big or small.
2What are the expansion possibilities for new features?
The sky is the limit! Our apps are completely flexible and features can be added at any time, whether custom or templated.
3Is your template app customized for each client?
Yes. The final app is always branded with your institution's logo and has a unique look and feel. Even with modular components, fine details can be customized provided budgets are sufficient to cover any additional development time.
4If I already have an audio tour, can I integrate it into this app?
Providing that your institution owns the rights to the content, you can certainly use your existing audio tour as the basis for creating an app. We can help you locate appropriate points in the tour to add new audio or visual content, making it more relevant and dynamic in the mobile context. Should you need help creating – or modifying – a tour, we work with tour creators both big and small.
5How long does it typically take to create an app?
Our templated app takes between 2-6 weeks, depending on the state of your content. Custom apps take 2+ months but we can often release partially completed apps as we continue to build in the more complex elements.
6Who owns the copyright to the content?
All content and final customized artwork is owned by the institution.
7Who owns the copyright to the app code?
The underlying app code is proprietary and is solely owned by GuideOne but we have options to purchase long-term or yearly licenses for the app.
8How is content updated?
The majority of content can be updated by your institution via our GuideOne Curator CMS, which is a private website available only to you, in which you enter and modify your app content. Some custom apps and templated features, such as clickable panoramic images, are highly customized and may require our involvement for updates. We can offer assistance on this – or any other updates – on an hourly basis or retainer.
9Is the app cross platform?
Yes. Our apps are available on IOS and Android.
10What types of analytics can we get with the app?
You can view a variety of different analytics like what objects and tours visitors are viewing and engaging with the most. We would only charge for a custom analytics evaluation where we're presenting detailed customized findings.
11If we don’t have wifi at our institution can we still use all of your features?
Absolutely. Having wifi throughout the building simplifies the process of providing on-demand content and allows for social network integration, however, wifi is not a requirement and our tour app can work without it.

We only charge for fixing a bug that was caused by something out of our control such as the institution changing their xml data feed from their website.
